R.M.U.

This is a unit used by my robot characters to get around on, while in space. It is very much based on the NASA unit and something I always wanted for my characters.

Building bricks are a great way to block out a build to get an idea of size and fit. I thought the maquette good enough and just clad it in styrene then the usual lots of kit parts.

There was a lot of juggling to fit it to the character flying it. Once painted and assembled it was then given a real dirty wash.

With this sort of model, it looks way more finished and realistic if covered in mini bolt heads.
